9:30 AM, AUG 28 SUNDAY: Now that Hurricane Irene has passed Ocean City Maryland, Emergency Management officials announce the re-entry plan. Re-entry for citizens will be conducted in two phases as follows: First phase: Property owners, tenants, business owners and their employees may re-enter with proper identification such as driver’s license showing local address beginning at 9 a.m. Second phase: Ocean City will be reopened to the general public at noon today. The beach will be opened, but access to the surf will be restricted today (Sunday Aug 28th 2011) .

Monday Aug 29, 2011 - All is ok in Ocean City MD - Hurricane Irene was but a big rain event with tropical winds for Ocean City MD. Beach Erosion was minimal, property damage from wind was very limited - The Inland areas were not so fortunate with major power outages and flooding along the Atlantic Coast Seaboard ..
